Regional Academies of Sport (RASi)

 

 

 

The Regional Academies of Sport (NSW) Incorporated (RASi) network covers each of the points of the compass in NSW. Member Academies include Central Coast Academy of Sport, Hunter Academy of Sport, Illawarra Academy of Sport, North Coast Academy of Sport, Northern Inland Academy of Sport, Southern Sports Academy, South West Sydney Academy of Sport, Western Region Academy of Sport and Western Sydney Academy of Sport.

These Regional Academies work with over 2,000 athletes, 300 coaching and program staff and are the delivery arm of pre elite athlete development programs.

The Vision of the collective network is ‘To be a collaborative, efficient and integrated lead organisation for Regional Academies of Sport’.

Each Regional Academy (listed below) conduct sport programs for talented young athletes, coaches and administrators across their local region. To nominate for a sport or for further information on each academy - click below to be directed to their sports programs and current offers.

All programs are open for nomination (incl. AFL, AWD, Basketball, Cycling, Golf, Hockey, Lone Star, Netball, Rugby and Triathlon) Nominations will remain open for each program up until a few days before each sports specific trial.

Lonestar Program

Each Academy of Sport provides programs specific to a number of sports. The Lone Star program is available to athletes who participate in a sport which is not currently offered by the Academy in a squad based program. The program will aim to prepare talented young athletes for progression to higher levels of individual performance and achievement – specifically State and National representation.

 

Academy Games

RASi also conducts the Academy Games - an annual tournament that has been held in various locations across NSW since its inception in 2005. Regional Academies from across New South Wales gather at a central location to develop athlete skills through meaningful competition, skill sessions and personal development activities.
