2021 NSW Community Sports Awards to be held at Bankwest Stadium

Sport NSW recently celebrated National Volunteer Week by announcing the 2021 NSW Community Sports Awards finalists and Distinguished Long Service Award recipients.

These awards recognise and celebrate the outstanding achievements, contributions and generosity of thousands of volunteers across community sport in NSW.

Traditionally held at NSW Parliament House, the awards attract a capacity crowd with family, friends, representatives of State Sporting Organisations and the sporting community coming together to celebrate.

Due to current COVID-19 restrictions and reduced capacity at NSW Parliament House, as well as the high demand for tickets to this event, Sport NSW has made the decision to move this year’s ceremony to Bankwest Stadium. This will ensure that each finalist is not limited to the amount of tickets they are able to access and is able to celebrate their recognition in a room full of their peers, family and friends.

Sport NSW CEO, Ross Bidencope said “It is pleasing that we are once again able to hold the NSW Community Sports Awards in a face-to-face format, following the need for virtual awards in 2020.”

“The demand for tickets to this event highlights the importance of recognising the critical role volunteers continue to play in community sport and recreation right across NSW.”

We would like to thank Minister Lee and his office for their assistance in securing one of NSW’s newest and most exciting venues. We look forward to welcoming our finalists and guests on the evening of Thursday, 17 June 2021.
