Bankstown Sports Club announced as Presenting Partner of the NSW Community Sports Awards
Bankstown Sports Club has today been announced as the Presenting Partner of the NSW Community Sports Awards, celebrating the outstanding volunteers, officials, coaches, administrators and community champions who make community sport possible across NSW.
The NSW Community Sports Awards, an initiative of Sport NSW, recognise the people and organisations who contribute countless hours to grassroots sport, often behind the scenes, to create opportunities for participants of all ages, abilities and backgrounds.
As one of NSW’s leading community clubs, Bankstown Sports Club has a proud history of supporting local sport, community organisations and grassroots initiatives. Its partnership with Sport NSW reflects a shared commitment to recognising the value of community sport and the people who sustain it.
Bankstown Sports Clubs’ Sporting and Community Partnerships Manager, Michael Hanratty, said the club was proud to support an event that recognises the people at the heart of community sport.
“Community sport plays such an important role in bringing people together, creating healthier communities and giving people a sense of belonging,” Michael said.
“We are proud to partner with Sport NSW to recognise the volunteers and community leaders who work tirelessly to make sport happen across NSW.”
Sport NSW CEO Stuart Hodge said the partnership was an exciting development for the awards.
“Community sport simply does not happen without volunteers, coaches, officials, administrators and local leaders who give so much of their time,” Mr Hodge said.
“The NSW Community Sports Awards are our opportunity to shine a light on those people and thank them for the contribution they make to sport and to their communities.
“We are delighted to welcome Bankstown Sports Club as the Presenting Partner of the awards. Bankstown Sports Club has a strong record of supporting community sport and local organisations, and this partnership is a natural fit.”
The NSW Community Sports Awards include categories recognising distinguished long service, community coaching, officiating, administration, inclusion, leadership and outstanding contributions by organisations and individuals.
The awards will be held at Bankstown Sports Club on Monday 29 June 2026, bringing together representatives from across the NSW sporting sector to celebrate the achievements of community sport.
