Sport NSW welcomes new directors

Published Fri 04 Nov 2022

Sport NSW held it’s Industry Forum and AGM face to face for the first time since the pandemic last night.

At the AGM two new directors and one returning director were elected to the board of Sport NSW.

Please welcome Erin Lorenzini, Head of Cricket Operations, Government Relations & Infrastructure at Cricket NSW, and Maria Nordstrom, Chief Executive Officer at Basketball NSW, along with the existing Finance Director, David Sexton, who commence their two-year term.

Sport NSW also farewelled the former Chairperson, Carolyn Campbell, who had completed a seven-year term as Director and four as Chair. At the AGM Life Membership of Sport NSW was conferred on Carolyn to recognise her immense contribution to the sector in her two stints as a director totalling over 12 years of service.

Sport NSW would also like to recognise and thank the contribution that David Thompson has made in his four years as a director of the organisation. David always stood up for the smaller participation sports. We wish him well.

Members attending last night’s event at The Locker Room also benefited from an informative briefing by Amelia Lynch, Partner at Lander and Rogers.

Amelia’s presentation took the audience through managing the National Integrity Framework and other non-NIF policies. With the adoption of the National Integrity Framework (NIF) by many sports, along with other policies to deal with misconduct outside the NIF, there are significant changes to the handling of complaints, disputes, and disciplinary action. This session provided an overview of the new policy landscape, with case studies to guide participants in applying the new policies and provided an opportunity for discussion. We thank Amelia for making herself available to attend and sharing her expertise.

If you haven’t met your new directors yet make sure you introduce yourself at the 2022 rebel NSW Champions of Sport Ceremony on 28 November. Tickets are selling fast so make sure you book a table before the event is sold out.
