More NSW citizens who have been injured at work and on our roads will benefit from unique opportunities for support and mentoring from Australian Paralympic athletes, with Minister for Finance, Services and Property Dominic Perrottet announcing icare (insurance and care NSW) is now a major partner of the Australian Paralympic Committee.

Federal Government announce funding of $2M to expand Women Leaders in Sport Program

Federal Minister for Women, Michaelia Cash, and Minister for Sport, Sussan Ley, announced last week the funding of over $2 million over three years to expand the Women Leaders in Sport program aimed at increasing female representation in sport leadership.

NSW to bid for 2018 Invictus Games

The NSW Government has launched an historic bid to host the 2018 Invictus Games, founded by Prince Harry, for wounded, injured or ill military personnel. The Invictus Games would bring more than 500 service personnel from 16 nations to compete over eight days in 11 sports such as swimming, wheelchair rugby and sailing in Sydney.

According to the Australian Sports Foundation (ASF), Aussies contributed a record of nearly $32m in tax-deductible donations to sport in the 2016 financial year. Fundraising for sport has grown by a massive 88% over the past two years!

Changes to NSW association laws start on 1 September 2016

Amendments to enhance the way incorporated associations are administered and to clarify the way associations operate start on 1 September 2016. After public consultation over a 3 year period, the Associations Incorporation Act 2009 will be amended and the existing Regulation replaced with a new Associations Incorporation Regulation 2016 on 1 September 2016.
